The Witch in Werewolf
Two potions, one use each: one saves the werewolves' victim, the other kills.
- Wakes every night
- Recommended from 8 players
- Also called: Sorceress
How the Witch works
The Witch wakes after the werewolves and is told who they attacked. She can use her healing potion to save that player, once per game.
She also has one poison potion: on any night she can poison a player of her choice, who dies at dawn.
Each potion works once per game. She can use both on the same night or save them for later.
What the narrator says
“Witch, open your eyes. Will you use your healing potion, or your poison?” … “Witch, close your eyes.”
The full script for every role is on the narrator script page.
How to play the Witch
- Don't heal on night one by reflex. Saving a random villager early can mean nothing is left when the Seer is attacked.
- Use the poison when you're sure, or very late. Poisoning a villager is a gift to the wolves.
- Knowing who the wolves attacked tells you who they fear. Use it in the day discussion without revealing why you know.
Playing against the Witch
- A surprise second death at dawn means the Witch used her poison. Ask who benefits.
The most common mistake
Spending both potions in the first two nights. Late in the game a single potion decides the result.
Questions about the Witch
Can the Witch heal herself?
If the werewolves attack the Witch, she can use her healing potion on herself, as long as she still has it.
Does the Witch see who the wolves attacked if she has used her heal?
In the app the Witch always sees the victim, which can still help her decide whether to poison.
