Village team
The Doctor in Werewolf
Each night the Doctor protects one player from the werewolves' attack.
- Wakes every night
- Recommended from 5 players
- Also called: the Doctor (Mafia), Bodyguard, Guardian Angel, Healer
How the Doctor works
When called, the Doctor picks one player to protect. If the werewolves attack that player, nobody dies that night.
The Doctor can protect themselves, but not the same player two nights in a row, so they can't shield one person forever.
Playing Mafia? The Doctor is called the Doctor there. See all the Mafia roles.
What the narrator says
“Doctor, open your eyes. Choose one player to protect tonight.” … “Doctor, close your eyes.”
The full script for every role is on the narrator script page.
How to play the Doctor
- Protect a revealed Seer. A Seer who survives a second night usually wins the game.
- Protect yourself on nights when you've been loud. Wolves go after players who are steering the vote.
- Never reveal yourself early. A known Doctor is an easy target.
Playing against the Doctor
- A night with no deaths means the Doctor (or the Witch) saved someone. Think about who the wolves probably attacked.
The most common mistake
Protecting yourself every possible night. The rule against repeats exists, and the village needs you to save others.
Questions about the Doctor
